BRANDING / LOGO DESIGN / FLYER  / BANNERS

The Languages for All programme offers all undergraduate and postgraduate students the chance to gain invaluable language and cultural skills for free during their studies at Cardiff University.

 
Background

We were asked to develop a brand identity and logo that communicated the message that learning a language can open up a world of new destinations, inspiring cultures and exciting career options.

Our initial ideas for the logo were based on quotation marks, dissected to create dynamic geometric shapes and patterns, that tied in with The School of Modern Languages branding.

We then developed the design further using speech bubbles as our starting point.

LOGO DEVELOPMENT

The Result

Is a clean, quirky and colourful logo.  

The speech bubbles are drawn such a way that they can also be seen as to two heads interacting.

As a counterpoint to the clean lines and primary colours, we have also created a more textured, free flowing banner design. Also loosely based on international speech marks including Guillemets, Chinese and Japanese brackets and stylised speech bubbles, it can be used as backdrop or background image.

We then introduced stylised iconic landmark images, to strengthen the message of new horizons and inspiring cultures.
